Audun Hetland (1920-1998) from Bergen was a great humorist, having an observant eye and astonishing remembrance for details. He became internationally famous for his drawings and cartoons. As regular contributor to "Aftenposten" and "Bergens Tidende" from 1940, he specialised in cartoons. Together with several authors he has contributed to more than 100 books with drawings, which became best sellers for many years. In 1976 and 1977 he decorated restaurants in Oslo, Kiel and London, and in 1979 he designed a stage decoration for the Bergen Dramatic Theatre. Audun Hetland is represented both in "Nasjonal Galleriet" (Oslo) and "Bergen Billedgalleri".
